Creative Slump

so I've been in a creative slump lately.  if i were a writer, it'd be writer's block.  since i'm a "creative", i guess this is a creative's block.  hmmm.

but i have been diligent about going over the e-course FLYING LESSONS that Kelly Rae Roberts has going on. { http://kellyraeroberts.blogspot.com/ }. yes, i have been making sure i have the info saved to a file (for my eyes only) ... and this way, in a binder, i can review it over and over again.  (yes, kelly rae gave us permission to do that, by the way - so long as we didn't share the info with others).

back to my creative's slump.   could be the weather - could be my migraines - could be plenty of things.  mostly, i think, it's GUILT over not being a good housekeeper, struggling to do more around the house, which then sets off all my joints -- bah humbug - this getting old(er) is for the birds.  (albeit NOT for the magpies - who never hurt!).

so i'm adding an "I Read Kelly Rae" button to my sidebar this morning.  it's about all i have, dear readers, to add to my blog today.

missing you - missing my creative spark - but hoping it will return soon.

Davielle - your Princess Magpie

{at right, my 'beloved' mixed media art teacher, JANE LA FAZIO - I'm guessing she rarely, if ever, has a 'creative slump' ... i'm just saying ... i mean, JUST LOOK AT HER.  Such energy and such enthusiasm and such joy.  :-) !!}

What a great picture of Jane, captures her perfectly! Maybe you could just try playing with some favorite art material just for playing, no goals! I'm thinking Play Doh might be fun. Justine

hello sweet friend. you need to read this post on my blog: http://happyshackdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/07/special-july-free-bling.html :-) ...and then you can read the post before that one because it talks about kelly rae's class.

Justine, Jane, Nina, and Kelly - the fact that you four beautiful, amazing women left comments on this post - means so much to me. I'm going to hop over to Nina's and Kelly's blogs to read what THEY wrote on the topic of the creative slump. and about Kelly Rae's class. how cool that we're all in it together. TODAY I will create. Something. Anything. LOVE YOU ALL -- Davi

I think this happens when we need to rest. We may not know it, or want it, but sometimes just giving into it propels us forward. What you resist persists...so put your feet up, read, take a walk, book a lunch date, do nothing...I guarantee you that this block will not last long... You will soon be oozing with creativity abound! Take care my sweet friend... xo
